As some of you may know we have been working on our final phase of Vanilla Ink. The studios, hurrah! So with this in mind we have decided to give one of DJCAD's jewellery graduates an award. We thought that it would be a lovely introduction to Vanilla Ink and what we will have on offer in our studios.
Our winner will get a "Vanilla Ink Taster" which is two months free inside Vanilla Ink and will also have the chance to sell with us on our online shop. A fantastic opportunity for one of the newly graduates.
So....with much deliberation over the amazing jewellers on offer we have picked a winner.....
MAIRI JOHNSTONE you are a winner!
Mairi's work was beautifully presented and the level of craftsmanship was admirable. The work is cleverly quirky and such an interesting take on everyday life.
"Come to your Senses!" is a collection that asks you to take that little time out of everyday woes and stresses and learn to appreciate our senses again.
"The distraction from our everyday lives hinder our ability to stop and think, to listen, to see, to touch and to feel things vividly. We tend no longer to appreciate our senses- we take them for granted."
"These humourous contraptions aim to bring some life and vividness back to our senses. Perhaps a pendant's secret sugary centre will ignite your taste buds giving you the push you need to get through your day, a scintillating scent drifting from your lapel pin might help you drift away to your "happy place."
"Each toy-like object conceals a secret sensory function. Let these little devices help you evade the hustle and bustle for a sneaky moment."
We are very much looking forward to welcoming Mairi through the doors of Vanilla Ink.
