Scott twists and shouts in this weeks #tipstuesday.
Scott has been working on an exciting commission which meant he got to work with his favourite material...wax! This beauty will be a sugar skull silver ring with so much detail and features. Can't wait to see this one finished. It's now being cast at our pals JewelCast in Birmingham!
The drawbench is somewhat a luxury item in our workshop, it often goes unused because, who doesn't buy their wire at the right gauge these days? But the drawbench looks so friggin' cool! This weeks video also features studio pup Jess, so you have to watch it just for that!
Kate took a few days off to welcome her new niece into the world, still nameless but she's a wee cutie and another niece to clad in her jewellery! On Monday we trialled a new taster class, water casting. We were thinking of introducing it to our class list and we can happily say that it was so much fun and our guinea pigs enjoyed it that much, it's definitely going up soon. On Wednesday Kate was asked to speak on a panel for an inspiring group of women business owners at the very first WE Mean Business event, huge thanks to Laura from Habiib for organising such a great event! Remember the ring that Carla made for her now fiancé? She made the master in silver and we had it cast in 14ct yellow gold, so we were left with the ring that Carla has made so Kerry (her fiancé) asked if we could make an engagement for Carla in return. Kerry picked a salt and pepper diamond for the centre stone when Shangrila Gems visited a couple of weeks ago and Scott finished and set the diamond. We can now reveal the ring which she gave to her last night along with the AMAZING Feyoncé mug!!!
We are also in the midst of updating our website and launching the classes of 2018, we have got lots of new and exciting classes for all levels so keep your eyes peeled. Sign up to our newsletter to be the first to know.
