FREESTYLE SESSIONS

This class is great to access the studio and make whatever projects you would like with the assistance and access to the machinery and tools. It has been designed to give you access to our fully-equipped workshop, with dedicated time and advice from either Kate or Scott. It's perfect for fulfilling any design ideas you may have, but need access to facilities and expert knowledge. We will be on hand to guide you through your own designs and help you make pieces of unique jewellery. Or we can leave you be!

basic stone setting - SOLD OUT

The Basic Stone Setting course is for jewellers looking to enter into the world of stone setting, beginning with the simplest of techniques. On both days there will be an in-depth and thorough look at each style. Extensive tutorials will give you an opportunity to watch a true master at work, before you turn your own hands to your new-found skills. Plenty of time and guidance is on hand, however further practice in your own surroundings is most definitely recommended.

intro to wax carving

This weekend is for talented jewellers looking to add wax carving to their already impressive repertoire. Carving is an essential skill on the road to becoming a complete goldsmith. It is cheap, forgiving, and a great way to improve both design and manufacture.

1st & 2nd September

 

smelting, melting & forging

Scott will take you through the smelting process where you will learn to test, smelt, pour, roll and draw down old jewellery in to new. This is a demonstration class where you will be given hints and tips and also the opportunity to ask Scott any burning questions.

6th September

 

Intermediate stone setting - 1 SPACE REMAINING

The Intermediate Stone Setting course is for jewellers looking to wade deeper into the world of stone setting, moving on to more complex techniques. On both days there will be an in-depth and thorough look at each style. This course is for jewellers looking to enhance their torch work and joining skills, beginning with the simplest of techniques. During the course, there will be an in-depth and thorough look at each skill. Extensive tutorials will give you an opportunity to watch a true master at work, before you turn your own hands to your new-found methods. Plenty of time and guidance is on hand, however further practice in your own surroundings is most definitely recommended.

cad for beginners

A two-day course on which you will learn how to understand different modelling techniques using software that will enable you to create models that can be fabricated using CAM [computer aided manufacture] to generate product. Together you will learn how to navigate through viewports, explore the various and extensive toolbars, and how to start creating curves and freeform surfaces with this fabulous tool. We will create simple models, using primitives to start with, progressing to 3D surface models and get you confident in progressing with your own designs.
